This material is a resource that is provided to help you learn and understand sailing theory.  It does not follow or mirror a curriculum such as the ones that underlie the CANSail, or US Sailing Learn‐To‐Sail levels. Rather, this material has been independently developed to cover a range of topics that the author believes are useful and necessary for intermediate to advanced sailors to understand. This book is best‐used as a resource for consolidating learning and verifying understanding of sailing concepts. It does not replace sailing lessons, nor does it purport to be an expansive manual in sailing theory (of which, many have been already been published and are available in‐store and online).
The Coach Boat Safety course is a practical, on-water safety course that will prepare coaches for possible emergencies. By the end of the clinic you will witness and practice skills necessary to manage common situations while coaching sailing.   Topics covered in the course are basic powerboat operation; sailboat rescue techniques; mark-setting for a sailing lesson, and general water safety content.

The CPS-ECP Maritime Radio course teaches emergency radio procedures and everyday operating techniques. Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS).
